New Executive Committee 2007-2008 October 2007 |

The Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday, 21 October 2007 at Rivervale.
Mr A. Jamil, the outgoing President welcomed all the members and presented his
annual report
for the year 2006-2007. He insisted on the necessity of a unified
platform and more cooperation from the members. Mr Amjad Awan presented the
financial report of the Association which was approved at the meeting.
Mr A. Jamil tabled seven nominations received by the eligible members, before the
Election Officer, Mr M. Riaz. As a result, the following members were declared
'Elected' by the Election Officer:
Dr. Jazbi Arif, Dr. Farah Adeeb, Yasmin Ghauri, Mr Arif Sikander, Mr Shakil Khan,
Mr Faiz Khan and Mr Shahzada Tahir Zaman.
The above members shall meet very soon to elect the President, Secretary &
Treasurer among themselves.
Mr A. Jamil thanked the outgoing members of the Executive Committee and offered
his warm welcome to the new Executive Committee for the year 2007-2008.

Celebration of Chand Raat & Eid Milan October 2007 |

On declaration of Eid on Saturday, 13 October 2007, the 'Chand Raat' was
organised on Friday, 12 October 2007. The hosts of the evening were
Mr & Mrs Sarfraz & Ifra Khokar and it was celebrated at Ballajura.
Most of Pakistani families and friends were in attendance. After Iftar and prayers
the moon was sighted by all and the friends embraced and congratulated each other.
The ladies especially young girls decorated their hands with 'hina' to follow the strong
traditions. Some pictures of the event are attached.
The Executive Committee organised Eid Milan party on Sunday, 14 October 2007 at Hamersley.
The venue was decorated tastefully and the function hall was full to its capacity of 300
persons. There were quite a few newly migrated couples who showed their interest to join
the Association. All gents, ladies and their children were dressed in colourful costumes.
The President, Mr A. Jamil welcomed all the guests. Mr Abdullah Khan recited versus from
the Holy Quran and elaborated the purpose of fasting and celebration of Eid. Gifts were
distributed amongst children and the best dressed couple after a vote from the audience.
The best dressed girl was voted to Misha Riaz. The best dressed couple was voted for
Imran And Sonya. It was an interesting event and everyone participated and enjoyed.
There was a plenty of opportunity for the friends to meet and have a wonderful time.
The members enjoyed a full course dinner, sweets and tea and finally said good to a really great
and enjoyable evening out with friends.

Celebrations of Pakistan Independence Day & 60th Anniversary of Pakistan August 2007 |

The Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Pakistan Independence Day was celebrated with
great glamour at Morley Sports & Recreation Centre on Sunday, the 19th of August 2007. The Association
had the honour of inviting Mrs Judy Hughes MLA who represented the Hon. Premier of Western Australia,
Mr. Ray Halligan MLC, representing the Leader of the Opposition and other distinguished guests from WA Police.
community Associations and local governments. It was a record attendance by the local members and almost
exceeded the venue capacity of 500 people.
The President, Mr A. Jamil gave a warm welcome to all the guests and presented a brief description of the event
and about Pakistan being the largest Muslim State in the world. He emphasized that when the name of Pakistan comes to our mind, we
must think of those educated, sincere and honest hardworking people who form the vast majority of Pakistan.
The good image of Pakistan must not be allowed to tarnish by a limited number of radical groups. Amongst the other
speakers were Mrs. Judy Hughes MLA, Hon. Ray Halligan MLC, Mr. Ayub Khan Hon. Consul of Pakistan, Dr. Anthony Dickey QC;
Patron of the Association and Mr. Abdullah Khan. The goodwill message sent by His Excellency Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani, High Commissioner
of Pakistan to Australia was relayed at this occasion.
Dr. Shahid Jamil and Ms. Sajida Agha hosted the program successfully throughout the evening and kept the audience busy with
their charming talks. The tables were decorated tastefully with colourful candles and balloons. A background music composed of
national songs was giving a soothing touch. A cultural show was presented as stage performance by different artists as a friendly
gesture to Pakistan. A slide show was presented on the screen by Monica Jamil throughout the evening to display various images
depicting cultures of Pakistan. The program was concluded at 10 pm with a tasty and mouth watering seated dinner.
The distinguished guests applauded the efforts of the Executive Committee to present such a successful program which
would remain in their hearts for a long time.

ICWA Expo & Symposium May 2007 |

The Islamic Council of Western Australia is a regional body functioning under the auspicies of the Australian Federation of the Islamic Councils (AFIC)
The ICWA is a Peak body representing Muslims living in the State of Western Australia. It was formed in 1975 and its office is at 7 Malvern Road, Rivervale WA 6103.
Since its inception the Islamic Council has taken steps to advance and ensure the progress, welfare and security, uplift the spiritual, social, moral, cultural, and economic status of all its members with the objective of enabling them to attain and maintain their rightful and honoured place amongst the other communities of Western Australia.
The Islamic Council is not only rendering religious services to its members in Western Australia but, is also vigorously maintaining and promoting unity and friendship between its members and all other communities within and outside of Western Australia.
On special invitation of Ms Ahdielah Edries, President ICWA, Mr A. Jamil President and Dr. Wajih Bukhari Secretary Pakistan Association of WA Inc attended the dinner held on Saturday 26 May 2007 at Perth Convention & Exhibition Center and represented the Association with performance of two songs to mark the occasion of "Sharing our achievements".
ICWA also marked the occasion holding a symposium & exhibition at Herb Grahm Center at Mirrabooka on Sunday, 27 May 2007. A large gathering of over 3000 persons from all walks of life visited the center and the response was overwhelming.

General Meeting 6 May 2007 |

At the invitation of the Executive Committee, a General Meeting was held on Sunday, 6 May 2007 at Rivervale.
The meeting was attended by all the financial members of the Association. The main subject of amendments in the constitution
were put on the agenda for discussion and approval by the members. There are specific requirements under the Associations
Incorporation Act 1987 which has to be catered for in PAWA constitution. The preview of the specific proposals was circulated to
the members in advance along with the notice of the meeting for prior information and submissions. The presiding panel included
Mr A. Jamil as President & Chairperson, Dr. Wajih Bukhari as Secretary and Mr Navid Qazi as Voting Officer and member
of the constitution committee. All proposed mendments were approved by special resolution after going through detailed
discussions on each and every item. The Secretary was advised to complete all the associated formalities to finalize the subject.
The second part of the meeting was focused on having a general discussion amongst the members to identify and devise solution to
various problems. Many good proposals were discussed to enhance the smooth running of the Association and provide improved facilities
to the members including our young children.
The General Meeting was over with a vote of thanks to the panel. The members expressed their full support to the Executive Committee
and admired their efficient working on bringing the important things together such as revision and approval of the Association's constitution. |

Mehfil Bazm-e-Adab

The Executive Committee was inspired by big demand of the members for the popular program of Bazm-e-Adab.
The program was held on Sunday, 27 May 2007 at Rivervale. Despite of heavy overcast, the function was attended
by the enthusiastic presenters and listeners alike. The President, Mr A. Jamil welcomed the guest and invited Mr Abdullah Khan
to be the host of the evening. Dr. Mohammad Yar khan, Dr. Tanveer Nasir Khan, Mohammad Safdar, Nadeem Nadvi, Shakil Khan
and Rashid Samankay presented beautiful kalams and fun poetry. Mr Jamil presented lyrics from Mirza Ghalib and Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
The audience enjoyed the program in a pin drop silence. The friends gathered over a cup of tea and mouth watering sweets and hoped that
more and more people would join and make such gatherings a fun and a worthwhile learning experience.

| Eid Milad-un-Nabi |

The celebrations of Eid Milad un Nabi were held on Friday 13 April 2007 at Rivervale Community Centre.
A large number of members including gents, ladies and children were present to mark the holy occasion.
The program started with a welcome speech by the President, Mr A. Jamil, followed by Talawat Quran Pak presented by
Mr Abdullah Khan. Mr Mohammad Safdar and Mr Abdullah Khan also presented the special articles, reflecting the way
of life of our Holy Prophet and his teachings for the mankind.
From the ladies corner, Mrs Shazia Iqbal presented naats with her melodical sweet voice which was indeed very impressive.
It was very encouraging to see that our children took a good part of the program. Amna, daughter of Mr & Mrs Parvez Aslam
sang a beautiful poem on Islam. Jassim and Qatada, two elegant sons of Mr & Mrs Abdullah Khan presented versuses from Holy Quran.
Aimen Imran, daughter of Mr & Mrs Imran Ali started with a shy tone but later on presented a wonderful poetry.
Mr A. Jamil and Mr Wajih Bukhari also presented two melodical naats to pay their homage. The program was concluded
with dua and prayers for the well being of all our children, brothers and sisters. A message of condolence was passed to
Rind family for the recent death in their family.
The members joined for a chat over the dinner and the evening concluded with blessings and well wishes to each other.

| Entertainment Program – Hindi Samaj of Western Australia Inc. |

On request from Hindi Samaj (WA), the Association participated in the Entertainment program organized at Octagon Theatre University of Western Australia, on 17 March 2007. A large number of our members were present at the function and enjoyed the evening which was full of entertainment with cultural dances, songs and colorful performances. Mr. A. Jamil presented the Association with a song accompanied by three Pakistani children on the stage. The theme was ‘Love of God’ and was appreciated by most of the audience. The organizers thanked our Association for mutual cooperation.

| Pakistan Day & Harmony Week Celebrations |

The Association organized a function to celebrate Pakistan Day & Harmony Week on 15th March 2007 at Herb Grahm Recreation Centre Mirrabooka. Mr. Robert Martin of State Security, West Australian Police Department was invited as Chief Guest. Most of the members and the program participants were presented at the venue.
The President, Mr A. Jamil welcomed the guests and explained the purpose of the gathering. Mr Abdullah Khan recited the Holy versus and gave an informative speech about the spirit of Islam which emphasizes cooperation and peace in the same way as most of the other religions do preach and practice. Mr. Safdar Zafar also presented a speech on the history of Pakistan Day. The Chief Guest, Mr. Robert Martin, addressed the audience informing the role of Police Department with special focus to new immigrants and settlers having different cultural backgrounds and serving their particular needs in Australia. He also emphasized the point that Australia does not encourage racial discrimination in any form within the society or workplace. The affected persons should bring such incidents to the attention of the ‘Equal Opportunity Commission’ of the state where they reside.
The program coordinator of Harmony Week Dr Zarrin Siddiqui, started the show with the famous love story of ‘Heer Ranjha’ of Punjab. Ridha, along with her school friends narrated the story on stage through visual and dialogue expressions. The Chinese artist presented songs and dances as expression of love. The Sikh cultural songs and dances with ‘Dhole’ created a colorful atmosphere at the stage. Amna Aslam, a young student from Pakistan, presented a poem ‘Love of Pakistan’. The audience enjoyed the performance and felt the warmth of our main theme ‘Its all about Love’ in their hearts. Mr Jamil brought the function to end with a vote of thanks to the Chief Guest and all the members and the participants.
All presents were invited over a cup of tea and refreshments provided by the Association.

| Bazm-eA-Adab |

The Executive Committee made another proud presentation of Bazm-e-Adab on Sunday, 11 February 2007 at Rivervale Community Centre.
Apart from a good crowd of members who are very much interested in listening poetry and Urdu Kalam, many poets and enthusiasts joined hands
to take up the stage. A nice sound system was installed to enforce the melodical voices of the artists.
The President, Mr A. Jamil thanked the audience for their continued interest and invited Mr Nadeem Nadvi to host the program. Nadeem presented
his famous poetry with lot of loud applauses from the audience. Other presenters included Dr Mohammad Yar Khan, Shahid Tirmazi, Rashid Samankay
and A. Jamil. A guest lady artist was called upon to present an item of her choice which touched the hearts of many listeners.
The Secretary, Dr. Wajih Bukhari presented a poem from his dedicated collection of Allama Iqbal with rythem and translation. The finishing touch was
given by A. Jamil who sung a ghazal from the famous collection of Mirza Ghalib: Dile nadan tujhey huwa kiya hey.... The evening came to an end with
a cup of tea, sweets and namkeen dishes. Those who missed out must be looking forward to attend the next session in a couple of months time.

| Eid Qurban - 2007 Celebrations |

The Association organized a function to celebrate Eid Qurban on 7 January 2007 at Rivervale. It was observed with pleasure that many members, non-members and new-comers attended the function with sparkling enthusiasm.
Mr Abdullah khan cited the versus from The Holy Quran and explained the significance of Eid Qurban for the benefits of both adults and the children. The Secretary, Dr. wajih Bukhari welcomed the guests and read the message of welcome from the President, Mr A. Jamil who was away on inter-state visit.
An entertaining program was presented including Quiz item involving the parents and the children. Many prizes were given away to the children and the parents for their performances as a good will from the Association. In particular, a prize was given to the adorable daughter, Wareesha of our new-coming members, Engineer Imran and Nusrat Munir.
It was encouraging to note that quite a few members made donations in response to the request of the Secretary. Any money received as such is spent wisely to improve the services to our members and in turn benefits everybody concerned. Thanks a lot for your donation and consideration.

The first inaugural session of Bazm-e-Adab was held on Sunday, 10 December 2006 at Cloverdale. The Executive Committee prepared well for the event and invited all the interested members to attend. The majority of local poets, writers, thinkers and listeners from all walks attended with pride.
The President, Mr A. Jamil, welcomed all the guests and requested that their patronage remains with the Association to make the event more popular and successful in the future. Mr Abdullah Khan conducted the program and invited all the speakers on the panel.
The audience heard the beautiful presentations by Dr Tanveer Khan, Mahmood Safdar, Shakil Khan, Rashid Samankay, Syed Abid Fida, A. Jamil and Dr Wajih Bukhari. The union of Saaz and Aawaz created an enchanting ambience. We are sure that there is still a mass of talented artists who could not attend this time but would join us in the next sessions. The future of Bazm-e-Adab remains bright….inshallah!

| Eid Milan - 2006 |

The Association organized a delightful function to celebrate 'Eid-ul-Fitre' on 27 October 2006 at Osborne Park Function Hall.
The Executive Committee received a record number of members and friends of the Association arriving at the function. The venue was packed to its full capacity. Some members travelled from as far as Geraldton to attend Eid celebrations. It was apparent that members are showing their growing interest and putting their priorities right to attend the community functions with temptation.
The President, Engr. A. Jamil welcomed the guests and members and thanked the Executives for their tireless efforts. Everyone including children were dressed in new colorful clothes and the atmosphere had a feeling of warmth and happiness. The function hall was decorated tastefully with colourful lights. Children from the community joined together and presented National songs. Abdul Khaliq and Renu Bhabra, our young talents presented a folk dance and a geet. A dazzling atmosphere was created by Dr Charan Singh when he gave heart throbbing beats on his big dhole. Our guest from Radio 6EBA Perth, Mr Roland Rosario, presented the prizes to a best dressed couple and best dressed children selected from the audience.
The program presenter, Dr Zarrin Siddiqui led the performance very smoothly throughout the evening. She introduced Mr Mohammad Shahzad, a visiting patient from Pakistan, to the audience with his brief history and interview. The President presented him a gift from the Association as a token of love and presented a 'Naat' as a prayer for his health and well-being.
The program concluded with sweets and a mouth watering dinner. The members had a chat over a cup of tea and were seen having a wonderful time. The majority of the members rated the function as being Excellent. The Executive Committee would like to request other members to please spare their time and bring out their families and friends to the Association functions. This would be a great way to show that spirit of togetherness and giving a feeling of one united community.

| Aftaar Party |

The Association organised an Aftaar Party on Sunday, 8 October 2006 at Osborne Park. Quite a few members attended the function. Naat Khawani from famous artists was being played in the background which created a very poise and religious ambience. The President, Mr A. Jamil welcomed the guests and commenced the function with Talawat Quran Pak and its translation presented by Amjad Awan. Mr Nadeem Nadvi was invited to speak about the auspicious month of Ramadan. The speech was very informative and was received well by discerning audience with attention.
Mr Jamil reminded the audience about the Earthquake disaster which struck Pakistan exactly one year ago on 8 October 2005, which killed over 73,000 people and displaced many more. To remember those who lost their lives in the disaster, the audience were requested to observe one minute of silence and a dua was made to bless their souls. The members offered their prayers after breaking the fast and took part in the social gathering while having their meals. The function came to an end with thanks from Mr Jamil who also presented a 'Naat' at this occasion.

| Farewell to Nadeem Nadvi & Family |

The Executive Committee organized a farewell Mushaira on Friday 22 September 2006, in the honour of Mr Nadeem Nadvi, a local famous poet at Perth. Mr Nadeem Nadvi & his family lived at Perth for quite a number of years and are now relocating to Melbourne. Apart from being an active member of our Association over the past years, Nadeem is renowned for his talented 'Poetry'. He had the honour of hosting major cultural and ethnic programs and also presenting great performances to the lovers of poetry. He has also published his own collection of poetry in a book named 'Sarey Saat Sumandar Paar'.
The Mushairs was attended by various poets of Perth including Dr. Tanveer Khan, Abdullah Khan, Muhammad Safdar, Shahid Tirmazi, Shakil Khan and Naeem Khan. The President, Mr A. Jamil welcomed all the poets and the guests and presented a memorable frame to Mr Nadeem Nadvi as a tribute. All the poets presented their poetry to mark down the occasion with their love and respect. The program was attended by the lovers of poetry and in particulars friends of Nadeem Nadvi. It was a enjoyable evening which will be remembered by everyone for long time.

The Executive Committee made final arrangements to hold the AGM on Friday, 17 September 2006 at Osborne Park. It was attended by most of the financial members. Quite a few friends of the Association were seen in the audience as observers.
Mr A. Jamil, thanked all the members and guests on behalf of the outgoing Executive Committee. Dr Aslam Awan presented a full account on the activities and financial status of the Association during his tenure as President. Dr. Anthony Dickey QC, Patron of The Association and Returning Officer for the purpose of Annual Elections presented his submissions. In view of the nominations received and scruitinized, Dr Dickey declared the following members duly elected by their full concensous to represent the new Executive Committee for the year 2006-2007.
Mr A. Jamil: President & Chairperson, Dr Wajih Bukhari: Secretary, Mr Amjad Awan: Treasurer, Dr Zarrin Siddiqui, Dr Mohammad Ali Bhatti, Mr Raheel kidwai and Mr Riaz Azhar as Executive Committe Members.
Mr A. Jamil, the elected President thanked his new committee and the members present for their vital support. He renewed his full committment to advance the objectives of the Association and serve its best interests with the involvement of all members. After the close of the meeting, the members and guests gathered together and exchanged their views over a cup of tea.
Overview
It was a common expression by most of the members that the conduct of this AGM in such a peaceful and friendly environment was very encouraging and shows a very positive attitude by the members. The expression of interest to submit nominations voluntarily and then elect the office-bearers by full consensous in just 15 minutes is a proof by itself that the members are adopting a sensible and democrative behaviour in the community affairs. The hassle free elections and quick transition of duties have saved the precious working time both at the Committee and the public levels. This change has derfinitely led to a positive step towards building a new image of the Association.

| Pakistan Independence Day & Association Silver Jubilee Celebrations |

The Association celebrated Pakistan Independence Day & its 25th anniversary at
Osborne Park Function Centre on Sunday 20 August 2006. The stage and the function
venue was tastefully decorated. The hall was jam packed with 300 guests and Pakistani
community members. The Association invited many dignitaries including Premier’s
representative, Mrs. Judy Hughes MLA along with her husband, Hon. Paul Omodei MLA
along with his wife Ross Omodei, Mr Kevin Looby Assistant Commissioner of Police,
President Chung Wah Chinese Association Mr Richard Tan and Presidents of various
Ethnic Associations at Perth.
The program was hosted by Mr A. Jamil & Dr Zarrin Siddiqui. After beautiful recitation
from Holy Quran by Abdullah Khan, the Patron Dr. Anthony Dickey, President Dr Aslam Awan
and the guests of honour addressed the members. A colorful cultural show was staged by
local artists and children. The Chinese Association put together a cultural musical program
which was praised by everybody. The host introduced Association’s past Presidents and
affiliated members and appreciated their hard work. Monica Jamil prepared and projected
a computer slide show, showing cultural and historic aspects of Pakistan. This added a
lot of valuable information to the audience about Pakistan and its outstanding heritage.
As a token of appreciation and good will, the Association presented Pakistani woolen
shawls to both the ladies guests of honour. The Ministers thanked the Association for
holding an honorable reception and hosting an enjoyable function. The evening concluded
with a service of hot and delicious dinner to the guests and all the members.
The Executive Committee thanks for the positive feed-back by the members after the
program and appreciate their suggestions to make further improvements.

| Bazm-e-Sangeet |

A beautifully decorated stage show was organized at Osborne Park on 9 July 2006.
The evening program known as Bazm-e-Sangeet, came to start with inaugural welcome
by the Secretary, Mr A. Jamil followed by thanks from the President, Dr Aslam Awan
and the Patron, Dr Anthony Dickey.
The program host, Dr Zarin Siddiqui coordinated the evening in a style with lot of
jokes and information. Sam presented his fast numbers in complete harmony with his
keyboard. A qawali was presented by a full chorus consisting of Vinod, Abdul Khaliq
and other artists. A newly arrived couple from Bangladesh presented a few enchanting
lyrics by Mehdi Hasan. The evening went on with ghazals, geets and filmy songs
presented by A. Jamil, Saeeda Mohsin, Dhaval Shah, Prem Mathur, Renu Bhabra and others.
We listened to famous poem of ‘Banga Town’ presented by Prem Kumar.
A large number of audience attended the evening. Their whistles and loud clapping was
a good sign of their enjoyment. In the end, the host thanked all the participants and
promised another enjoyable event like this in the near future. There was a remarkable
feedback received by the Executive Committee after the event.

| Bazm-e-Mushaira |

On
12 May 2006, the Association organized a Bazm-e-Mushaira at the
Function centre in Scarborough. The stage was tastefully decorated
with carpets, red cushions and floating candles. There came along a
very selected gathering of poets and poet-lovers. Everyone was in
the right mood of speaking and listening. Even by 11pm there was no
sign of tiredness. On the panel of poets and presenters, included
the names of Dr. Mohammad Yar Khan, Dr Tanveer Khan, Mohammad Safdar,
Nadeem Nadvi, Abdullah Khan, A. Jamil, Renu Bhabra, Shahid Tirmazi,
Shri Jagdish Kumar, Prem Kumar, Dr. Wajih, Hidayat Ullah Irani and
Abdul Haadi. Some poets sang their poetry with beautiful lyrics.
We could not believe that our small city of Perth has so much
talent hidden in its suburbs. The host of the evening Suresh Dinker
coordinated the program in well organized fashion and kept the
audience smiling with his extempore jokes and poetry. We simply
could not ask for more.
Both, Dr. Aslam Awan, President and Mr A. Jamil, Secretary thanked all
their colleagues and the participants for making the evening of
Poetry & Kalam a very successful and enjoyable occasion. They promised
that they will keep on working hard to bring such programs in action on
popular demand of the members.

| Pakistan National Day |

The
Pakistan National Day was celebrated on Fri 24 March 2006 in
Osborne Park. The host of the evening was Mr Nadeem Nadvi who
is an admirable poet. The function was attended in majority
by over 150 members including ladies and childern. An informatory
speech was given by the Secretary Mr A. Jamil on the significance

The Association invited Hon. Premier of Western Australia, Mr
Alan Carpenter MLA. Due to his previous engagements, the Hon.
Premier could not attend the function and sent his letter of
apology and thanks. The letter was read at the ceremony by the
Patron, Dr Anthony Dicky QC. The letter is available here
for information.
The Patron, Dr Anthony Dicky QC, also addressed the congratulated the members on celebrations of The Pakistan National Day.
The Pakistan National Anthem was sung on keyboard by Sam, a
one of the main contributor to our Association's functions.
Later on in the evening, the program included folk songs by
Renu, Sam and Jamil which were received with a lot of aplauses

| BBQ Party |

On big demand of the members,
the Association arranged a BBQ party in January 2006 at the Victoria Gardens, East Perth.
The weather was perfect with a perfect music on air and a perfect roast of chicken, meat and kebabs on the tray.
Who would dare to miss out this perfect opportunity to enjoy in the beautiful park overlooking the Swan river and
the Burswood casino. Many families and the students joined this fabulous occasion and really enjoyed the party.
Due to extended wishes of many members, the Association will arrange another BBQ party in the near future
and hope that those members who missed out last time could join us and have a fresh feel of the outdoors.

| Eid Qurban |
| |
The last Eid Qurban was celebrated by all Muslims at Perth on 15 January 2006.
The Association became aware of the fact that many Muslim members could not perform the 'Qurbani' in time due to lack of resources,
the relevant information and proper guidance to carry out the procedure.
To assist the cause, the Association has decided to address the issue for the future celebrations of Eid Qurban by our Muslim brothers and sisters
at Perth. A general information will be posted on Association's website approx. two months prior to Eid Qurban for anyone
interested to perform Qurbani. The Executive Committee will also endeavour to inform the members by email respectively.
After obtaining the expression of interest from the members at large, the Association will negotiate a better deal with the suppliers
in the best interests of our members. This will ensure a most economical and trouble free outcome for their timely performance
of 'Qurbani'. Please join hands with the Association to help the system work in the interest of ourselves and the community at large.
Any other proposal would be most welcome.

| Iftar Party |

The Association held an 'Iftar' party on 30 October 2005 at Osborne Park
Function Hall. The function was attended by well over 150 members and friends of the Association. After breaking the fast, the ladies and
gents offered their prayers.
The program started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Mr. Abdullah Khan, who also narrated the spirit of fasting in the
Holy month of Ramadan and an essential element in Islam.
All the participants enjoyed the mutual company over a courteous service of delicious food.

| Eid-ul-Fitre |

The Association held a function to celebrate 'Eid-ul-Fitre' in November 2005 at the
Osborne Park Function Hall.
It was delightful to see that a record number of members and friends of the Association arrived at the function.
The venue was jammed pack to its full capacity of 350. Luckily, it was the first off occasion so far that demonstrated the
growing interest of our members to attend our community functions with zeal and interest.
The President, Dr. Aslam Awan welcomed the guests and thanked the Executive Committee and other friends who worked hard
to telephone the members individually and materialized the function. Both adults and children were dressed in new colorful dresses
and the whole atmosphere was filled with warmth and happiness. Some children joined together and presented national songs.
Dr. Jazbi awarded three prizes to the winners of best dressed male, female and a child.
The program concluded with a prayer for happiness of all who attended. The majority of the members rated the function as being Excellent.
