A friendly Cricket Match
 
A friendly cricket match was sponsored by the Association between Emirates United Cricket Club (EUCC) Dubai and local Pakistan Cricket team (CVPCC) on 28 February 2006 at East Victoria Park. The match was played with 35 overs on each side and Mr Arif Sikander accepted the charge of an official Empire.

The match started at 1 pm. EUCC won the toss and decided to bat first. Due to vigorous bowling attack and efficient fielding, the maximum score was yielded to 180 runs for 7 wickets in 35 hours. After the refreshment break, CVPCC positioned the crease and faced the remarkable bounces from the opposition bowlers. Despite of the brilliant start, the wickets kept on falling and CVPCC got all out for 132 runs in just 29 overs.

EUCC was declared the victory over CVPCC by 48 runs. Bravo!!

A small presentation ceremony was held after the match. The Association's secretary, Mr. A. Jamil thanked both teams for their contribution and exhibiting a show of good quality cricket between two friendly teams. The Honorary Patron of the Association, Dr. Anthony Dickey QC also praised the players and distributed medals to the winning team. The Captain Manager of EUCC, Mr Amir Aziz also thanked the members and presented a special souvenir to the Association as a token of their appreciation.

The match was attended by cricket fans, friends and members of the Association. It was a memorable occasion in the history of Association's sporting events with a strong expectation to follow many more in the future.
